High School Fall 2021 & Personal Project, Individual
A digital dash and control interface for the standalone Engine Control Unit in my 1995 Mazda Miata. A custom UPS handles safe start/shutdown to the Raspberry Pi 4 and integrated switches allow for boost level adjustment, data logging trigger, launch control, and other important parameters. A PCBA was designed for the UPS, but the circuit prototype ended up being reliable for the past 3 years without issue. Plans were made for a sleeker front panel with integrated labels, but never ended up getting fabricated. The lightweight DietPi installation runs the software to display critical engine parameters and adjust the engine calibration parameters on the fly, as well as running Apple CarPlay thanks to this separate project: https://github.com/rhysmorgan134/react-carplay
