High School Spring 2020, Group Project
For this project, our group was tasked to create a magnetic levitation train which automatically stopped at different stations. Keeping the magnets aligned was the biggest challenge, so jigs were used to build the walls and place the magnets. Rollers on the side of the train kept it center without excess friction. A onboard Arduino received stop/go commands via WiFi from another Arduino which read hall sensors and controlled the carousel. I helped manage the overall design, develop the electronics, produce CAD renders, and designed the logo. Unfortunately the project was cut short due to Covid-19, and the physical prototype never reached completion.
