High School Fall 2020, Group Project
In this project, our group was tasked with creating a aquaponics grow station where nutrients are cycled from a tank of fish to a grow bed. A adjustable UV light provides light for the plants, while a automated water pump periodically floods and mists the the grow bed. A basic control loop from a water level sensor allows a target fill for the duration of the flood. Both the light and pump are on programmable cycles to allow for different plant types. After construction, the prototype successfully grew plants for several months. I worked on the firmware, wiring, CAD design, and company logo.
Designed for a group semester project with document deliverables below:
15-20 minute in-class presentation reviewing the design
Written report detailing the design process and results
Given project outline and goals
Logo for example business
